7/17/10 - I will no longer broker Road Toad ukulele. I'm leaving this page up on my site so you can view the ukes available for a while.  Road Toad has become so backlogged that they cannot (in my opinion) provide reasonable turnaround for new customers.  Current wait is over a year for a hand-built Road Toad uke.  If you are willing to wait that long, you can contact Road Toad directly.  I've found that the follow-up and anticipation required of me to ensure a custom uke is on track for a customer is more than I can reasonably handle right now.  I get so involved that the disappointments of a missed target date become my own and it is just too much.  Road Toad still makes an outstanding and often innovative product and I am in no way advocating that you don't order one - just order directly from Road Toad.  As I know from building custom instruments myself, it is the length of time spent crafting each uke that makes them so special in the end.

The Road Toad Standard model includes body wood from list A (see below), mahogany neck, koa headplate, Grover 85B/88B or Gotoh chrome mini tuner. 15 to 18 frets, Tru-oil finish, macassar or rosewood fretboard with matching bridge, plastic bridge pins, bone nut & saddle, shell fretmarkers, choice of Aquila Nylgut, Hilo or fluorocarbon strings. Road Toad inlay logo. Includes Lanikai, Kala, or equivalent instrument case.

Tadpole Concert sized Bass - Standard Model

Semi-hollow Bass Model

The semi-hollow bass comes with standard top, back, sides & neck in select myrtle, walnut, mahogany, black limba, maple or primavera. Figured top & back with matching headplate is available for an upcharge of $50 to $100 depending on the wood and level of figure. Koa also available starting at $25 to $150 more than the standard woods depending on level of figure. Polyurethane strings and the same high quality Hipshot tuners and K&K Sound pick-ups that are used on the Big Bufo models. This model comes fretted or fretless and has a 20.938" scale. Other options such as custom inlay are available on special request at additional cost. Gig bag is included.
